How to set up Android Device Manager
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Under "Personal," tap Google.
- Under "Services" tap Security.
- Under "Android Device Manager" tap Remotely locate this device and Allow remote lock and erase to switch them on or off.
If you have a tablet with more than one user, only the tablet owner can control this setting.
Step 2. Make sure location is ON, on your device.
To use Android Device Manager, you need to have location access turned on.
If you’ve turned Location off, here’s how to turn it back on:
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Under "Personal," tap Location.
- At the top, tap the On/Off switch.
For most android devices, you can perhaps swipe down from the top of your home screen to show the notification panel, and simply tap on the location setting to switch it ON/OFF.
Step 3. Check that Android Device Manager can find your device
After you turn on Android Device Manager, check to make sure that it's working.
- Open android.com/devicemanager.
- Sign in to your Google Account.
- Check whether your device shows.
Don't see your device? Make sure that you're signed in to your Google Account, your location settings are on, and you've turned on Android Device Manager in Google Settings.
Unhide devices on Google Play
If you hide a device on Google Play, the device won't appear in Android Device Manager. To unhide devices:
